SUMMARY:Borders\, Belonging\, and What We Leave Out: Teaching Partition
DESCRIPTION:In many U.S. classrooms\, South Asia is often reduced to a limited focus on religion and Gandhi\, leaving major historical events underexplored. This workshop addresses those gaps by tracing the region’s history from British colonial rule and Partition to its lasting impact today. Participants will engage in meaningful discussions around empire\, identity\, borders\, and belonging\, while gaining a deeper understanding of how these histories continue to shape modern South Asia. \nPresented by NJEA and Empowered Voices.
