A Workshop in Culturally Responsive Teaching for New Jersey Social Studies Supervisors and Teachers
Over the course of the week-long workshop held jointly at Kean University and Liberty
Hall Museum, participating educators will be introduced to recent scholarship on the
Founding Era, as well as current research being conducted at Kean University on the
complexities of “Liberty” at the moment of the Nation’s founding in advance of the
250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Educators will work with original
primary source documents in the “History Lab” at Liberty Hall Museum, the Kean
University Special Collections Research Library and Archives, along with web-based
primary sources–concrete resources to be deployed in the classroom to create inclusive
curricula at this crucial moment in American history and historical commemoration.
Participants will receive credential in Culturally Responsive Teaching.
