Atlantic County summer institute on inclusive curricula

Atlantic County K-5 teachers are invited to apply for the first cohort of its summer institute, an interactive workshop that will provide teachers with the tools to infuse diverse perspectives into their ELA and Social Studies curricula. Workshop leader Tamar LaSure-Owens, a current Atlantic County teacher, will walk participants through her inclusive classroom methods, sharing student work, materials, NJ student learning standards connections, supplemental book recommendations and more.

After models of current inclusive curriculums are analyzed, teachers will have time to use their curriculum materials and collaborate with others to develop ideas and lesson plans for the 23/24 school year. Teachers are invited to bring existing ELA and/or Social Studies materials and leave with lesson plans ready for the 2023-2024 school year! Teaching teams are encouraged to apply.

All attendees will receive a $200 stipend at the conclusion of the workshop.

Teachers must commit to fully attend all 4 days in order to receive stipend.
