Fourth graders at Osage School in Voorhees learned about disability, allyship and autism as part of a special presentation titled “Disability is not a bad word!” last week. Mrs. Putman shared about her experience as a parent of a disabled teenager as well what she has learned from listening to the disabled community, specifically autistic voices.
The students watched videos created by autistic children and teenagers. They learned how to be supportive and respectful and how to “show up” as an ally.
