It’s raining books in Trenton

NJEA ACCESS celebrates READ Across America in Trenton

Last month Danele Still, NJEA ACCESS consultant, organized a book delivery from BookSmiles. The books were delivered to the seven Trenton schools that work with the NJEA ACCESS program.

The Book Smiles delivery truck went from school to school unloading boxes of the more than 7000 books that were donated. BookSmiles Director & Founder Larry Abrams and his driver and warehouse coordinator, Carter Fichter began their deliveries at 9 a.m. at Arthur J Holland Middle School, then continued the tour to Thomas Jefferson Intermediate School, Monument School, Martin Luther King Middle School, Ninth Grade Academy, Paul Robeson Elementary, and finished up at Washington Elementary School. The full delivery process took over three hours. Teams of representatives at each school met the truck and organized accepting the delivery.

Danele Still is an NJEA ACCESS consultant. Prior to working for NJEA, Still was a Master Teacher who taught third through sixth grades and Computer Technology in the Camden City and Mount Laurel School Districts for 28 years.
